November 2026

Read on for information on upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and many different ways for you to get involved and give back to our school community!

Including the total from our recent TK - 7 Walk-a-Thon, we have now raised $26,345 of our $57,000 goal for this school year! We appreciate every donation, small and large, and hope you will consider giving today if you haven’t already done so.

All OVEF funds are going directly toward hiring specialty instructors and vendors for our afternoon enrichment classes this spring, as well as toward funding teachers’ specific requests for materials that help bring their lessons to life.

Upcoming Events

November 6th - 8th: Copperfield’s Books Money for Schools Fundraiser

This upcoming Friday - Sunday (November 6th - 8th), pop into any Copperfield’s Books location and remember to mention that you are with Orchard View School, and 20% of your total will come right back to us!

This would be a great time to stock up on books you’ve been eyeing to support your curriculum at home, get a start on holiday gifts (they’ve got lots more than books!), or treat yourself to a great new read.

November 19: Snoopy’s Home Ice Booster Event

(Click the flyer to enlarge in a new window!) Snoopy’s Home Ice is hosting a booster event to benefit our school on Thursday, November 19th from 4:15 - 5:30pm, with $8.00 admission, skate rental included, for anyone who mentions this fundraiser!

This event is open to all, and the more friends and family we bring along, the more we raise to benefit our school. Put it on the calendar and get ready to lace up those ice skates!

Walk-a-Thon Gratitude!

Our first ever TK-7 Walk-a-Thon was a great success! 49 Participating students across all 8 grade levels raised at least $6,000 for our school!

The OVEF Board would like to express our enormous gratitude to everyone who participated and made it all come together, from the students who ran, jumped, dove, and skipped their hearts out; to parents and community members who volunteered their time and energy for set-up, clean-up, face painting, baking, and all kinds of other jobs; to the local businesses and organizations who made both in-kind and monetary donations that helped make the event a joyful and memorable one. We would especially like to give a shout out to 1st & 3rd grade parent Stephanie, the driving force behind the event, whose many hours of effort since last spring were instrumental in making it happen. Thank you, Stephanie!

More information about prize winners and more specific thanks to our many sponsors and volunteers will be going out via Parent Square soon, so keep an eye out for that.

If you have any photos from the event that you would like to share in the Yearbook, please send them to tcirimele@twinhillsusd.org — we would love to see them!

Get in touch!

If you have questions about the Foundation and aren’t sure who to ask, feel free to email info@orchardviewfoundation.org. You are also welcome to get involved by joining our monthly Zoom meetings, on the second Friday of each month, with the next meeting on Friday, October 9th. Here is the link, which you can bookmark:

Finally, do you have an idea for equipment, resources, or a field trip that you’d like the Foundation to fund? Ask in the office for a funding request form and submit it to Principal Maura DuVall for review. If it is within the Foundation’s mission, she will pass it on to us!
